Yesterday marked a milestone moment at REGIS Village: the first residents moved into their new permanent supportive housing (PSH) units, transforming years of vision and hard work into keys in hands and roofs over heads.
This week, as the Bay Area is experiencing a cold snap, the timing felt especially meaningful. While temperatures dropped across the region, REGIS Village opened its doors, offering not just shelter from the cold, but the stability and dignity of a permanent home.

Staff and residents alike felt the significance of move-in day, a turning point years in the making. Those moving in were ecstatic to have a beautiful new spot to call home. Our team who had worked tirelessly to bring REGIS Village to life shared in the celebration, their pride evident as they welcomed the first residents to campus. For many team members, this moment represented the culmination of years of planning, construction, and unwavering commitment to ending homelessness in our community.
Our team is so proud of what has been accomplished so far, and what is in the near future. REGIS Village is taking a phased approach to move-ins, ensuring each resident receives the personalized support and smooth transition they deserve. The 70 permanent supportive housing units, including 45 designated for older adults and people with serious medical needs, will continue welcoming residents in the coming weeks.
From Vision to Reality

Every person moving into REGIS Village comes through Alameda County’s Coordinated Entry System, ensuring the campus serves those with the greatest need. What began as an ambitious vision in 2023 is now a living, breathing community where housing, health care, and support services come together to create lasting change.
As winter settles in and REGIS Village fills with residents, we’re reminded why this work matters: every person deserves a place to call home, especially when the temperature drops and the need is greatest.
The journey continues. Stay tuned for more updates as REGIS Village grows into the vibrant hub of stability and healing it was designed to be.
