Towne House Creative Living Center

Towne House has been serving the Oakland community since 1969.  Based on principles of psychosocial rehabilitation and the clubhouse model, our program promotes hope and recovery in a supportive environment. The program encourages inclusion, finding a sense of purpose, and developing meaningful roles as a way of gaining the confidence and skills necessary to lead productive and socially satisfying lives. The program is strength-based, and it is assumed that every individual has unique talents to contribute to the clubhouse.

Approximately 45 people participate in the program each day, and our full membership is about 80 people.

Members are referred to the program by psychiatrists, case managers, or other mental health providers. Members choose from one of three groups where they can participate in structured daily activities essential to the operation of the program. [More...]
